Job summary

Mercy Health – Anderson Hospital is seeking aPatient Care Technician (PCT) to provide essential support under RN guidance. You will sanitize and clean patient rooms, monitor health and vital signs, and assist with basic needs such as feeding and grooming.

The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-focused care with opportunities to use EPIC EHR and collaborate with nursing teams. Training available; prior clinical experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide basic patient care and support.
• Experience in acute care or home health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, hygiene, and mobility support.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and promptly.
• Participates in hand-off information upon arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Supports patient transfer and promotes independence and safety.
• Individualizes care based on patient interests and needs.
