Job summary

Mercy Health’s Bon Secours facility in the United States is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the St. Francis Downtown unit. The role supports nurses by sanitizing rooms, monitoring vitals, assisting with basic needs, and ensuring safety at night on the unit. Candidates should have recent acute care exposure, strong communication, and be comfortable with EPIC EHR. A preference for BLS certification is noted. This position offers 36 scheduled weekly hours and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care, physician’s office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire.
• Ability to perform basic patient care tasks and assist with mobility.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, hygiene and mobility support.
• Reports changes and concerns to the nurse in charge.
• Delivers high-quality customer service to patients and families.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely in the EHR.
• Participates in hand-off communications during shift changes.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Aids in safe patient transfers and supports patient independence.
