Job summary

ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital Lakeshore is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to provide direct bedside care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role emphasizes infection prevention, safety, and compassionate patient support.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, reporting changes to nursing staff, and helping maintain a clean, safe care environment. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• 2 years of inpatient hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and patient safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and provide basic patient care (bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming) and record vital signs and intake/output.
• Report condition or behavioral changes to nursing staff.
• Prepare units, rooms and beds; maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Adhere to patient rounding standards and ensure patient comfort.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow infection prevention standards.
• Respond promptly to patient and family calls and requests.
• Code or designate charges for patients using hospital billing processes.
• May work during inclement weather or staffing emergencies.
• Maintain regular attendance and complete required trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support hospital operations.
