Job summary

ClearSky Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, non-invasive bedside care under RN supervision in an inpatient setting. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and adherence to infection prevention standards.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED with BLS required. Prior inpatient hospital experience is preferred; strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork are essential to support the care team and patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• 2 years inpatient hospital experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc.
• Performs and documents vital signs, intake/output, weights, and specimen collections.
• Transfers patients using proper body mechanics and safe handling.
• Reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Prepares unit, patient rooms, and beds for admissions.
• Keeps beds and rooms clean, safe, and organized.
• Adheres to rounding expectations and infection prevention standards.
• Maintains a safe physical, social, and psychological environment for healing.
• Responds promptly to patient and family calls and requests.
• Assigns charges to patients using hospital system.
• May work during inclement weather or staffing emergencies.
• Supports safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Assesses environmental safety risks and takes precautions.
• Completes required trainings and other duties as assigned.
