Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health’s St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital seeks a Patient Care Technician to support nurses and healthcare professionals by sanitizing rooms, monitoring vitals, and assisting with basic patient needs.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient interaction and attention to safety in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have BLS certification preferred, complete nursing aide training or equivalent, and recent acute care experience.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support certification is preferred and must be obtained before direct patient care.
• Completion of nursing aide training program OR STNA/CNA or nursing program with clinical rotation is required.
• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including vital signs, comfort, personal care and mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information on arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Assists with mobilizing patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourages patients to perform tasks independently when possible.
• Individualizes care based on patient interests and preferences.
