Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a dedicated Patient Care Technician to support nurses and patients in a hospital setting. Performs basic patient care, monitors vital signs, and assists with feeding, grooming, and mobility under RN guidance. The role emphasizes compassionate service and collaboration with the care team.

Preferred BLS certification and completion of a nursing aide program or equivalent clinical experience. EPIC EHR training is valued to document care accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care, physician's offices, home health/hospice, or long-term care facilities.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire.
• Must have completed one of the following: nursing aide training program OR STNA/CNA OR Nurses Aide program with clinicals or nursing program with a clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and hygiene, and assist with mobility.
• Serve as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document accurately and timely for patient care.
• Participate in hand-offs and report pertinent information during shift changes.
