Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse at Lourdes Hospital. The role emphasizes patient comfort, vital signs, and accurate documentation in EPIC EHR within an acute care setting.

Candidates should have recent experience in acute care environments, possess or be willing to obtain BLS, and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long term care facility.
• BLS certification required or preferred depending on location; ongoing training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse; report changes and concerns promptly.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the health record.
• Participate in hand-off reports and delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Assist with patient transfer using safe techniques and promote independence.
• Support patients in activities of daily living and encourage independence.
• Utilize clinical technology and follow applicable safety standards.
