Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for St. Francis Downtown to provide essential patient care under RN supervision. The role involves room sanitization, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with basic needs such as feeding and grooming.

Qualifications

• BLS certification preferred (must obtain before direct patient care)
• Nursing aide training program OR CNA certification OR nursing program with clinical rotation OR 1 year of relevant clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility assistance.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation for patient care as applicable.
• Participate in hand-off/report of pertinent information at shift changes.
• Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilize patients using safe transfer techniques
• Encourage patient independence in daily tasks
• Individualize care based on patient preferences and interests
