Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care across units under RN/LPN supervision. The role involves direct patient assistance, vital sign monitoring, EMR documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide daily patient care, including hygiene, mobility, feeding assistance, and repositioning
• Monitor patients and report any changes in condition to the care team
• Record vital signs and maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Perform basic clinical tasks and advanced skills as trained (e.g., wound care, specimen collection)
• Support unit operations through clerical tasks and use of healthcare technology
• Follow safety, infection control, and patient care protocols
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and manage workload effectively
