Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patients across units under RN/LPN supervision. You will provide daily care, monitor conditions, and document in the EMR, helping admissions, discharges, and transfers with compassionate teamwork.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; CNA/CPCT or enrollment in a healthcare program is preferred. Basic life support and PCT competency validation are expected within specified timelines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide daily patient care including hygiene, mobility, feeding, and repositioning.
• Monitor patients and report changes to the care team.
• Record vital signs and document in the EMR accurately.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Perform basic clinical tasks and advanced skills as trained (e.g., wound care, specimen collection).
• Support unit operations through clerical tasks and healthcare technology.
• Follow safety, infection control, and patient care protocols.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and manage workload effectively.
