Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; completed PCT/CNA training or equivalent.
• CPR certification required.
• Strong patient-care and communication skills.
• Ability to respond promptly to patient requests and work under RN/LPN supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hospital room for new admissions.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Monitor intake and output; measure oxygenation with pulse oximetry.
• Assist with activities of daily living including hygiene, mobility and feeding.
• Provide compassionate, respectful care and document observations to the RN/LPN.
• Observe skin integrity and ensure patients receive turning to prevent breakdown.
• Apply anti-embolism stockings and sequential compression devices as directed.
• Report changes in patient condition promptly to the RN/LPN.
