Job summary

Mercy Health in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nurses and care teams. The role involves basic patient care, vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance and mobility, with emphasis on patient comfort and safety.

The position requires completion of nursing aide training or STNA/CNA, plus BLS certification (preferred). Prior acute care or long-term care experience is a plus. Mercy Health offers a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have or be willing to obtain BLS Basic Life Support before direct patient care
• Nursing aide training completion or state tested nurse aide certification is required
• Prior clinical experience is preferred in acute care, physician offices, home health or long-term care

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and hygiene
• Assist with mobility and activities of daily living
• Serve as liaison between patient and nurse to communicate changes or concerns
• Document patient care accurately and timely
• Participate in hand-off reporting and shift turnover
• Perform delegated tasks after competency validation
• Escort mobility and transfers using safe techniques
• Encourage patient independence and personalize care to patient interests
