Job summary

Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff and deliver compassionate care under RN supervision.

You will assist with basic patient care, take vital signs, help with hygiene and meals, obtain specimens, and participate in safety and mobility tasks. CPR certification is required at hire.

A high school diploma is required; 1 year of related experience is preferred. We offer benefits and competitive hourly pay in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation HeartSaver CPR upon hire required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Strong interpersonal and team skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for actions.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and reports observations to the RN.
• Takes vital signs and maintains accurate intake/output records.
• Assists with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Obtains routine urine, sputum, and feces specimens as needed.
• Performs treatments and supports monitoring as directed by RN; assists with CPR.
• Maintains bedside cleanliness and organization; assists with patient transport.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
