Job summary

Bon Secours seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patients under RN guidance. Responsibilities include basic care, vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and contributing to compassionate, patient-centered care.

You will document care accurately, communicate changes to the team, and participate in hand-offs. Experience in acute or long-term care is valued; training in EPIC EHR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility.
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care).
• Must have completed one of the following: nursing aide training program OR STNA/ CNA/ Nurses Aide state testing OR a nursing program with relevant clinical rotation; or 1 year of relevant clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and/or concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participates in hand-offs for pertinent information at arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Assists with patient transfers and mobility using safe techniques.
• Encourages patient independence and tailors care to patient interests.
