UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV seeks a patient care assistant to support licensed nursing staff in direct and indirect care. You will assist with admissions, vital signs, hygiene, and comfort measures while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Required to obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire. Prior patient care experience is preferred; capability to work day shifts and protracted hours is expected.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Responsabilidades

• Observes and reports patient concerns to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists in personal hygiene and comfort measures.
• Assists in specimen collection and other patient activities.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to prevent infections and protect patients, visitors and staff.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel as per procedure.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures as required.
• Communicates nutrition issues to the RN, such as poor appetite or diet changes.
• Assists department with administrative tasks to support operations.
• Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
• Completes annual education for specialty accreditation when required.
