Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in West Virginia is seeking staff to perform nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care under licensed nurse supervision. Responsibilities include monitoring patient condition, assisting in admissions, and ensuring patient comfort and safety during night shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists in personal hygiene and patient comfort measures.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicates nutrition concerns to the RN (e.g., appetite issues, understanding diet changes).
• Assists department with administrative tasks to support operations.
• Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
