West Virginia University Health System in Bridgeport, WV is seeking a Patient Care Technician to perform nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision, coordinating with licensed medical staff to deliver high-quality care.

Requirements include a high school diploma, BLS within 30 days, and the listed certification options. Prior patient care experience is preferred. Schedule: 36 hours per week, Day shift, Non-Exempt.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Must meet one of: Nationally certified patient care technician; WVU Patient Care Technician program completion; Current CNA certification in the state of service.

Responsabilidades

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and helps with personal hygiene and patient comfort measures.
• Assists in specimen collection and other patient care activities.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicates nutrition issues to RN about appetite or diet understanding.
• Assists department with administrative tasks to support operations.
• Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
