Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Clerical/Clinical Assistant to support patient care on the unit under RN supervision. You will handle orders, assemble records, and assist with admission and discharge processes while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, and basic patient care tasks. A high school diploma is required, with preferred completion of a Clinical/Medical Assistant program and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program or Nursing Students who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Course from an accredited school of nursing (preferred).
• Current and in good standing with state licensing board or be enrolled in an accredited school of nursing with completion of Fundamentals of Nursing Course. (LPN's may apply.) (preferred)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes and computes physician orders accurately.
• Assembles and maintains patient records and charts.
• Assists with admitting, transferring, discharging patients, and transports lab specimens.
