Job summary

UofL Health University Hospital – UMC in Louisville seeks a Clinical Assistant/Medical Assistant to support nursing staff on the unit. You will perform clerical duties, assist with patient care, collect specimens, and help with daily mobility, hygiene, and comfort under RN supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a recognized clinical assistant or medical assistant program, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Clinical Assistant/Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes and computes physician orders and messages accurately.
• Assembles and maintains patient charts and records.
• Collects specimens, measures vitals, and assists with hygiene and mobility.
• Performs point-of-care testing and basic nursing support under RN guidance.
• Operates unit equipment and maintains clean, organized work environment.
