UofL Health is seeking a Clinical Assistant on the JHHS Med Center East campus in Louisville, KY. This role supports licensed nursing staff, performs phlebotomy and EKG placement, collects specimens, maintains patient records, and assists with admissions, discharges and routine patient care tasks to ensure safe, compassionate service.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED and completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT program; BLS certification

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program (preferred)
• BLS certification (required)
• CNA/CMA or EMT certification preferred; state licensing considered (LPNs may apply)
• Current and in good standing with state licensing board or enrolled in nursing school with Fundamentals of Nursing course completion (if applicable)

• Transcribes and communicates physician orders accurately
• Assembles and maintains patient records in proper order
• Assists with admission, transfer and discharge processes
• Obtains vitals, intake/output, height/weight
• Performs basic patient care tasks and hygiene assistance
• Collects specimens and participates in point-of-care testing
• Transports patients and specimens as needed
