Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Unit Clerk/Medical Assistant at the Frazier Rehab Institute - UMC in Louisville. You will perform clerical duties on the unit, transcribe orders, assemble records, and support nursing staff under the direction of an RN to ensure patient care runs smoothly.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and preferred completion of a clinical assistant program or EMT training; strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential to success in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT program is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes and routes physician orders and messages.
• Assembles and maintains patient medical records.
• Sets up admission charts and handles chart discharges and transfers.
• Responds to intercoms and routes messages to the appropriate person.
• Collects urine, stool and sputum specimens; performs point-of-care testing.
