Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME, part of Prime Healthcare Foundation, seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and basic nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment and assisting in unit operations. Valid phlebotomy or EKG certification and BLS are preferred; CNA certification is required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living and basic nursing care under RN supervision.
• Maintains a safe environment and supports team and unit operations under supervision.
