Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME, is hiring a Patient Care Assistant for the ICU with a day shift. The role supports patients with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the unit.

Qualified candidates will have current or preferred phlebotomy certification, EKG certification, and BLS within 30 days of hire, along with knowledge of medical terminology and hospital or physician office experience.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic nursing care.
• Maintain a safe environment under RN supervision.
• Collaborate with care team to support patient needs.

Education

Phlebotomy certification

EKG certification

BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire

High School Diploma or equivalent
