Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, part of Central Maine Healthcare, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Med/Surg unit. This part-time day shift role supports RNs in daily living activities, basic nursing care, and maintaining a safe patient environment within a busy hospital setting.

Requirements include CNA certification, BLS, phlebotomy and EKG credentials, and medical terminology knowledge. Prior acute care experience preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology knowledge required.
• Minimum six months experience in acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• CNA certification and high school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
