Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support direct and indirect patient care under supervision. The role covers daily living activities, safe patient handling, and collaboration with RN staff.

Responsibilities include vital signs, phlebotomy where allowed, transport, and assisting with exams while maintaining a clean, safe environment. Rotating 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain BLS/HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living and bed making.
• Safely transport patients to tests and discharge areas.
• Perform routine phlebotomy where permitted.
• Record vital signs and basic measurements per policy.
• Provide respiratory support and oxygen setup as needed.
• Assist with examinations and procedures with physicians/RNs.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment to prevent infections.
