Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV, is seeking a patient care support role. The incumbent will assist in direct patient care under a registered nurse, help with activities of daily living, and support safe patient handling and transport throughout the facility.

Responsibilities include basic testing, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with exams and procedures. A strong emphasis on safety, communication, and teamwork within a non-exempt, full-time role at WVUH.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS or HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care with basic physical care as directed by RN.
• Help patients with activities of daily living and bed making.
• Safely transport patients for tests and discharge.
• Transport specimens and items within the facility.
• Perform glucose testing and urine/stool tests per policy where allowed.
• Conduct routine phlebotomy services as approved by management.
• Record temperatures, pulse, respiration, BP, intake/output, weight.
