Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, and help ensure a safe, comfortable, family-centered environment in Morgantown.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire; prior patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS/HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and bed-making.
• Safely transport patients and specimens per policy.
• Perform routine measurements (temp, vitals) and basic phlebotomy as assigned.
• Assist with exams and basic rehab activities as directed.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control procedures.
• Communicate patient concerns to the RN promptly.
• Support unit operations and respond to calls and messages.
