Job summary

R1 RCM is seeking a Patient Access Representative at Ascension St Vincent’s Health Center to be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring quick, compassionate access to care. You’ll register patients across multiple systems, verify information, and support insurance interactions in a busy hospital setting.

You’ll gain exposure to revenue cycle processes and hospital operations while collaborating with care teams. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth within R1 RCM.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient access, medical registration, or insurance verification is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass background check, drug test, and vaccination requirements.
• Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly with high attention to detail.
• Comfortable with shifting priorities based on patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients with check-in across multiple computer systems.
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration and answering questions with confidence and compassion.
• Build trust with patients during moments when they may be ill, anxious, confused, or overwhelmed.
• Navigate diverse insurance plans, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
