Job summary

R1 RCM is seeking a Patient Registration Customer Service Representative at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. You’ll be the first friendly face patients meet at check-in and will guide them through the registration process.

No healthcare background is required; we’ll train you. You’ll work across computer systems, phones, and in-person interactions in a fast-paced environment, helping patients navigate insurance and registrations with compassion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Ability to pass background check, drug test, and vaccination requirements.
• Healthcare experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients across multiple computer systems quickly and accurately.
• Answer phones and gather information clearly and efficiently.
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious, or confused with empathy.
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training).
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations.
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time.
