Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least two years of job-related experience or equivalent.
• Certificate of Medical Terminology preferred.
• Excellent patient relations and customer service are critical.
• Typing speed of 40 wpm with working knowledge of PC applications.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and assist in comforting and communicating with families.
• Obtain complete PHI to register patients in Patcom and Affinity accurately and promptly.
• Coordinate with physicians’ offices to ensure accurate scheduling and registration.
• Obtain signatures for consents and financial responsibilities.
• Collect co-payments and deposits during registration when appropriate.
• Organize test results and forms for the patient’s permanent record.
• Create daily reports to guide registration schedules.
• Verify insurance information online with payers to maintain financial integrity.
• Explain regulatory information (HIPAA, Medicare notices) to patients.
