Job summary

The Patient Access Representative at Bristol Health bridges patients with services, registering admissions, verifying demographics, and collecting copays at the point of service. Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• Some knowledge of medical terminology, pre-admission, and insurance preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Familiarity with online computer systems and applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for hospital services and collect copays/deductibles at time of service.
• Obtain necessary signatures at registration or arrival.
• Courteously answer the telephone and respond to questions promptly.
• Identify uninsured/under-insured patients and refer to Financial Counselor or relevant representative.
• Maintain a positive relationship with patients, families, clinical staff and colleagues.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
• Handle stressful situations with professionalism and keep orderly patient flow.
