Job summary

South County Health in Rhode Island seeks a Patient Access representative to gather and verify confidential health and financial information from patients, using billing software to assure payment from insurers and maintain accurate records in the electronic health record (EHR). You may be assigned to work at all South County locations.

Qualifications include excellent customer service, strong typing and PC skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and third-party insurance experience.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and verifies patient health and financial information to ensure insurer payment.
• Enters new patient data and updates existing records in the EHR.
• Collects coinsurances upfront and reconciles daily point-of-service cash reports.
• Representatives may be assigned to all South County Health locations.
