Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Patient Registrar to be the first point of contact for patients and families. You will collect demographics, insurance information, and verify data for accuracy while entering details into the EMR system to support efficient patient access and timely care.

Responsibilities include managing registrations, maintaining confidentiality, and coordinating with billing and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
• Bilingual skills strongly preferred.
• Minimum of one year medical admissions experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate office equipment and prepares reports, invoices, financial statements, letters, case histories, or medical records.
• Receive and route messages or documents, such as laboratory results, to appropriate staff.
• Receive payments and record receipts for services.
• Obtain signatures for consent for treatment/testing, release of medical information and assignment of insurance benefits.
• Verify demographics and eligibility information for accuracy; document actions in EMR.
• Maintain confidentiality of health information in oral and written formats.
• Interact professionally with physicians, payers, referral sources, patients and staff.
• Manage appointment reminders and assist with vendor communication.
