Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative who often serves as the first contact for our patients. You will represent Mercy with exceptional customer service, compassion, and adherence to Mercy Service Standards while assisting patients at entry points of Mercy facilities.

Responsibilities include scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance, including pre-visit collection.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years clerical experience and customer service experience preferred.
• High School diploma required; some college helpful.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient entrance including scheduling, registration, and pre-certification.
• Verify benefits and perform financial clearance, including pre-visit collection.
• Ensure accurate patient data and maintain knowledge of insurance carriers and guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and insurance companies.
