Job summary

Versiti, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Family Support Specialist – Organ Donation to provide compassionate presence for families during organ donation decisions.

You will support grieving loved ones, lead donation conversations, and coordinate with hospital teams to honor donor wishes and create a unified plan for family care. This role requires strong communication, confidentiality, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related field required
• Associate's Degree and 1+ years healthcare or community-based service experience with strong communication abilities or 3+ years overall experience in lieu of degree
• High School with 1+ years healthcare or community experience plus 4+ years experience in challenging emotional situations in lieu of degree

Responsibilities

• Supports grieving families with compassion throughout the donor process
• Coordinates with hospital staff to establish a collaborative plan for family care
• Obtains written consent from next of kin for organ/donor purposes
• Educates healthcare partners and public about organ donation
• Participates in education programs for healthcare professionals and public
• Adheres to regulatory and compliance requirements
