Responsibilities

• Provide high quality trauma and crisis support to potential donor families.
• Initiate donation conversations with authorized persons at hospitals.
• Educate families about donation options and the legacy of the decision.
• Advocate and guide families through the donation conversation.
• Explain brain death vs. DCD and related processes to families.
• Document authorization, notification, and interview data in EMR.
• Respond to referrals on site or remotely as directed.
• Educate hospital staff on triggers and referral criteria.
