Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measures and documents vital signs and other patient data in EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates observations to RN.
• Participates in admission/transfers/discharges and room setup under supervision of RN.
• Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Performs errands, stocks nursing area, cleans equipment and work areas.
• Positioning and transporting patients with proper technique and assistive devices, assists with diet and nutrition needs.
• Maintains skin integrity and uses/supplies like TED hose and sequential compression devices.
• May remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans as directed by RN.
