Job summary

Alden Northmoor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Chicago seeks a caring Nursing Assistant to provide daily resident care under supervision. You will support activities of daily living, monitor health signals, and participate in care planning.

Requirements include completing an accredited nurse training program, high school diploma or GED, CPR certification (or within two weeks), English literacy, and the ability to work with ill and elderly residents.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate from an accredited nurse training program.
• Must be at least 16 years old and of good character.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR certificate or obtain within two weeks.
• Able to read, write, and speak English.
• Able to work with ill, disabled, elderly and handle stress.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily nursing care per standards and facility policies.
• Assist in developing a written plan of care for residents.
• Attend care plan conferences and council meetings when invited.
• Record intake/output and monitor bowel movements and nutrition.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility as directed.
• Respond to call lights promptly and assist with safety and comfort of residents.
• Maintain warmth and calm environment across the department.
• Participate in orientation and training as needed.
• Report concerns to nursing leadership and assist with equipment and supply needs.
