Job summary

The Alden Network in Chicago seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide daily resident care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, facility policies, and directives from nursing leadership to maintain high-quality care.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, documenting intake/output, reporting changes to the Nurse, participating in care plans, and supporting a warm, safe environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Must complete nursing arts course and pass department-approved competency evaluation.
• Must be at least 16 years old with good moral character.
• Provide evidence of residence and employment history for two years prior to employment as a nursing assistant.
• Must possess CPR certificate or obtain within two weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Follow nursing procedures and dress code per facility policies.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Contribute to written care plans and update care needs as required.
• Attend care plan conferences and participate in resident/family councils.
• Report concerns to the Administrator or Nurse in charge.
• Take vital signs and monitor residents' health as directed.
