Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care across nursing units. The role includes safe patient transport, reporting data to the RN, and handling clerical tasks to keep the unit running smoothly.

You will maintain BLS certification, assist with safety procedures, and collaborate with diverse team members to ensure high-quality patient care and appropriate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
• BLS certification preferred or required.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Basic computer skills and documentation ability.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
• Ability to document information accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under supervision of licensed personnel.
• Observe, obtain and report patient data/status to RN.
• Respond to acuity and emergent situations as directed by nursing staff.
• Perform receptionist and clerical duties to support unit operations.
• Verify patient identification and ensure safety and proper body mechanics.
