Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in providing high-quality, patient-centered care. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining a safe care environment in a hospital setting.

The PCT will report to RN/LPN and may require continuous observation of patients, adherence to infection control, and effective communication within the care team.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• BCLS within 90 days of hire required.
• CNA or CPCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Record and report vital signs and patient data to the RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assist with meals, grooming, bathing, linen changes, and mobility aids.
• Support with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility devices.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform finger-stick blood glucose monitoring.
• Communicate patient information to the care team and maintain PPE usage.
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols and participate in quality initiatives.
• May provide continuous observation of patients as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain regular attendance.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
