Job summary

Harmony is seeking a Med Tech in Greensboro, NC to provide quality care and assist residents with daily living activities while administering prescribed medications within the scope of practice.

The role requires completion of the Medication Aide Course, CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, and strong communication skills. Flexible scheduling and full-time/part-time benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech licenses from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Maintain working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, or ED).
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Assist residents to and from dining room and activities.
• Check on residents, attendance at meals and activities.
• Check on residents who are ill and report status or concerns.
• Communicate resident status, appointments, admissions, and transfers.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition: provide emotional support.
• Attend medication trainings and complete medication cart audits.
