Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to assist with prescribed medications within scope of practice, support residents with daily living, and participate in care planning.

You must hold current CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, complete the Medication Aide Course, pass annual medication observations and cart audits, and be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within 60 days.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Must remain calm during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living
• Reports incidents involving residents and care concerns to appropriate individuals
• Performs housekeeping duties as directed
• Responds to resident calls for assistance or emergencies
• Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents
• Maintains confidentiality and documents in the Daily Log
• Re-orders medications and communicates with pharmacy/family as needed
• Documents all medication administration on EMAR/MAR and Daily Log
• Other duties as assigned
