Job summary

The role requires CNA and Med Tech licenses, completion of Medication Aide Course, strong communication, and the ability to lift 50 lb and stand long periods. You will document in EMAR/MAR, maintain medication carts, and participate in trainings.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass medication observations annually.
• Must attend medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work with all levels of personnel.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Must lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within 60 days.
• Must attend and complete required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Must remain calm and competent during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality care and assists residents with daily living activities.
• Assists with administration of prescribed medications within scope of practice.
• Reports incidents and communicates resident status to appropriate personnel.
• Performs housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Responds promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Documents all medication administration on EMAR/MAR and reports exceptions.
• Re-orders medications and faxes to pharmacy as needed with changes.
• Attends medication trainings and maintains cart as directed.
