Job summary

Good Samaritan’s Canistota facility in Canistota, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse. The role includes assisting with daily activities, vital signs, meals, and medication administration within state scope of practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 18 preferred.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Must meet state CMA/TMA certification requirements where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Assist with activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care, medication administration, and resident responses.
• Support dining, mobility, hygiene, and psychosocial needs of residents.
