Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is hiring a Medication Assistant to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living support under a charge nurse. The MA will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and administer medications within scope of practice.

Applicants should have CMA or CNA credentials as required by state boards, with annual competency testing and continuing education. A valid CMA/CNA certification and state registration are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age 18; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Annual competency testing and continuing education credits required.
• CMA certification required by state; CMA/TMA where applicable.
• Active CNA registration or able to obtain within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications and document outcomes.
• Record vital signs and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, dining, and housekeeping as needed.
