Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) in Canistota, SD to provide resident-centered nursing and daily living assistance under a charge nurse’s supervision.

The MA will assist with activities of daily living, perform basic health tasks, and document outcomes of care including medications and vital signs. CMA/TMA certification and state guidelines apply; on-site role with day shift and full-time schedule in a senior care setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 18 preferred.
• Annual continuing education requirements posted by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within scope.
• Communicate changes in resident condition and care needs to charge nurse.
• Assist with meals, hygiene, mobility, and documentation of care outcomes.
