Job summary

Good Samaritan’s Canistota facility in Canistota, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered care and daily living support under the supervision of a charge nurse. This role includes assisting with daily activities, vital signs, and basic health tasks as part of a qualified team.

The MA administers prescribed medications as delegated, maintains accurate documentation, and communicates changes to the nurse in charge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• CNA certification required or must be maintained where applicable.
• Must have CMA/CM A course completion as applicable per state."

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document patient care, medication administration, behavior and activity.
• Communicate changes in condition and concerns to the charge nurse.
