Job summary

Majestic Care of Goshen, IN is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to join our community nursing team. The QMA will set up, administer, and record prescribed medications for residents under supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal rules.

Qualified candidates must hold active QMA and CNA certifications in the state of employment, and demonstrate accuracy, compassion, and teamwork to support residents’ wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Active QMA certification in the state of employment; must be in good standing.
• Active CNA certification in the state of employment; must be in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, eye, nasal, ear) to residents and document administrations.
• Administer topical medications to intact skin.
• Administer PRN drugs as authorized by a licensed nurse.
• Verify physician orders against medication forms.
• Maintain clean storage and handling of all drugs; keep medication cart secure.
• Report needs and conditions to the charge nurse during rounds.
• Administer vital signs and document accurately.
• Keep medical records current with timely charting; co-signature by a licensed nurse.
• Order medications from pharmacy per physician order.
