Job summary

Lakeview Personal Care is seeking a Medication Aide to assist licensed nursing staff by administering daily medications as ordered by physicians. You will deliver oral, inhalation and topical medications under direct supervision, observe for adverse reactions, and document changes in residents’ conditions.

Responsibilities include maintaining medication carts, following safety procedures, and upholding infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified nursing assistant certification.
• Medication aide certification.
• Minimum of 1 year health care experience or 2 years as medication aide.
• Current CPR certification and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine daily medications under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Observe for adverse drug reactions and report to nurse.
• Record medication administration per policies.
• Follow written/verbal instructions for medications.
• Maintain documentation of changes in residents’ condition.
• Handle preparation, dosage calculations, stocking meds, and removal of discontinued meds.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of medications.
